Another Place

Antony Gormley's installation on Crosby beach is really fantastic. It's been there ages now, but I have only just got around to visiting. Unfortunately the weather was horrible, so did not hang about to really enjoy them. But will visit again when the weather improves and bring Chris.

The status look really eerie looking out across the sea, it is really striking to see. It so simple - why didn't someone do this before!! Anyway, I expect in 2000 years when our future selves are escavating the beach, they will be discovered and be like Stone Henge - people thinking that they are significant for some pagan ritual - rather than just some cool idea!
Number 14
Crosby beach is also really nice - although hard to appreciate in lashing rain! I like Crosby and might persuade Chris to move here one day. Nice house on the sea front . . close to the city . . far enough out not to be too Liverpool . . we'll see . . .

Conway Marina

The weather was bad but Conway marina was lovely - really nice marina and beaches. Cas and I went with Mum for the afternoon. Would have like to look round a bit more, but it was cold and the rain was drizzling so didn't do much more than check out the marina and take Cas for a walk on the beach.

With his trousers tucked in his socks, Cas enjoyed running along the beach. He will not wear Wellies now for some reason and throws a right tantum if you try and coax them on! I keep telling him, no wellies, no puddles, but he doesn't get it!

Pancake Day

I love pancakes! So easy to make and so tasty! I have a crepe maker which I got in France one year when we were skiing. I use it generally for Raclette as it has little raclette trays which go with it for melting cheese. However it also has a top plate for pancakes! It makes the nicest, non greasy pancakes ever - easily as good as the ones you get from the French markets!

Anyway, Cas and I enjoyed a selection of savory and sweet pancakes! Well mainly me as Cas is off his food a bit because he is full of a heavy cold. Probably caught it when we were out in the cold on Chinese New Year! Anyway he also has sore eyes and conjuntiviatus. The doctor has given him some eye drops, but he hate having them put in his eyes :-(

Chinese New Year

Sunday was Chinese New Year - Year of the Tiger! So we went to Lakeside to see some dragon dancing and some fireworks. The fireworks were a bit loud for Cas, so we went and watched them from inside the cafe which he enjoyed much more. Lots of people we sending Chinese Laterns into the air and making wishes for the New Year. Cas loved watched the laterns even though it was freezing cold out!

Hanging out with Granny and Pete

We went to Granny and Pete's to celebrate Bunty's and Jo's birthdays. I made them a cake each but forgot to take any pics! Anyway we had a really nice meal and stayed over in a very comfy bed! Cas enjoys it there because there is lots of space to run around in and he can play with his cousins!

Walking the Dog

Here is Cas trying to walk the dog . .poor Mo - he is tortured by that child! Anyway Cas is walking really well now and in fact he spends most of his time trying to run off! He is staggering a bit in this clip, but I think it is because I am always putting him in jeans that are too long!
